3796516 - Error LE_SHP_VL022 When Creating Outbound Delivery for Remaining Advanced Intercompany STO Quantity - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When creating an additional Outbound Delivery for an Advanced Intercompany Stock Transport Order, the delivery cannot be created and the following error is raised:

LE_SHP_VL022 – The Intercompany Stock Transport Order Item cannot be delivered

Several partial Outbound Deliveries may already have been created successfully for the same STO item, and the STO still shows a remaining quantity to be delivered. However, the remaining quantity cannot be processed in a new Outbound Delivery.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Start transaction VL10B.
2. Enter the Intercompany STO document.
3. Run the selection.
4. Select the relevant STO item.
5. Choose the option to create the Outbound Delivery.
6. Observe that the Outbound Delivery is not created.
7. Check the log and note error LE_SHP_VL022 – “The Intercompany Stock Transport Order Item cannot be delivered.”

An Underdelivery Tolerance is maintained for the affected Advanced Intercompany Stock Transport Order item.

When the remaining quantity falls within the allowed underdelivery tolerance, the system can consider the delivered quantity sufficient for completion. As a consequence, the quantity of the succeeding Intercompany Sales Order can be updated to the quantity already delivered rather than the original STO quantity.

The STO may therefore still show a remaining quantity, while the succeeding Intercompany Sales Order no longer has additional open quantity available for delivery creation.

This can be verified by checking:

• The Order Quantity of the affected STO item.
• The Underdelivery Tolerance maintained for the STO item.
• The quantities already processed in the Purchase Order History.
• The quantity of the corresponding Intercompany Sales Order, which can be identified through the Monitor Value Chains app.

If the remaining STO quantity is within the maintained underdelivery tolerance and the quantity of the succeeding Intercompany Sales Order corresponds to the quantity already delivered, there is no further open quantity available in the Sales Order for another Outbound Delivery.

As a result, creation of an additional Outbound Delivery for the remaining STO quantity fails with:

LE_SHP_VL022 – “The Intercompany Stock Transport Order Item cannot be delivered.”

Review the Underdelivery Tolerance maintained for the affected Advanced Intercompany Stock Transport Order item.

If the remaining quantity still needs to be delivered, adjust or remove the underdelivery tolerance so that the remaining quantity is no longer within the permitted tolerance.

After changing the tolerance, save the STO and verify whether the quantity of the succeeding Intercompany Sales Order is updated accordingly. The related Sales Order can be identified using the Monitor Value Chains app.

If the succeeding Sales Order quantity is not updated because the previously delivered quantity has already been considered complete, temporarily increase the STO quantity so that the open quantity exceeds the underdelivery tolerance. Once the succeeding Sales Order is updated, create the required Outbound Delivery. The STO quantity can then be adjusted back to the required quantity, provided the business process and document status allow it.
