3797337 - Cannot Delete Item in Cloud Application Studio: "Startindex cannot be less than zero"

• Unable to delete item/filecreated under a solution in SDK using Cloud Applications Studio.
• Delete operation from Solution Explorer fails.
• Error message: “StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex”.

1. Open Cloud Applications Studio and connect to the SDK DEV tenant.
2. In Solution Explorer, navigate to the solution and locate CustomBO > ZCTIContext.
3. Right-click ZCTIContext and choose Delete.
4. Observe the error: “StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex”.

A known issue in specific versions of the Cloud Applications Studio installer can cause the error “StartIndex cannot be less than zero” when deleting certain items. The issue is fixed in newer installer patches.

1. Update the local Cloud Applications Studio to the latest available (Copernicus) installer from the SAP ONE Support Launchpad Software Download Center.
2. After updating, restart the Studio and retry deleting the item from Solution Explorer.
3. If available, right-click the item and perform Undo Checkout, then attempt the deletion again.
4. If deletion still fails, try deleting the item from the Project > Source Code Files view instead of Solution Explorer.
5. If the issue persists after updating, contact support to request backend deletion of the affected item.
