3797492 - IDoc with movement type 555 fails with error F5286 'Period not open for account type S' - SAP ERP & SAP S/4 HANA

Symptom

  • An inbound IDoc of type WMMBID02 with movement type 555 fails with status 51.
  • Error message F5286 is triggered: 'Period 006 /2026 is not open for account type S and G/L account'.
  • The error is also visible in transaction /AIF/ERR: 'Errors occurred during processing in AIF; see transaction /AIF/ERR - Message no. /AIF/IDOC004'.
  • The IDoc cannot be posted and the application document is not created.
