3797562 - Reclassification task returns no data with Accounting Technique 4

• A reclassification sequence configured with Accounting Technique 4 returns no records when executed.
• The message "There are no entries yet. When there are, you'll see them here." is displayed.
• The application log does not provide an explanation for the absence of data.
• Consolidation units using the Equity Method exist in the relevant group structure and contain transaction data matching the reclassification trigger criteria.
• Changing Accounting Technique in the sequence to 1 or leaving it blank allows records to be retrieved.
• Enabling Remove predefined filters allows the Equity Method data to be selected.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Consolidation Monitor and navigate to the relevant reclassification task.
2. Open the assigned reclassification method.
3. Configure a sequence with Accounting Technique set to 4.
4. Leave Remove predefined filters unselected.
5. Ensure that the relevant consolidation group contains a consolidation unit using the Equity Method and that transaction data matching the trigger selection exists.
6. Execute the reclassification task.
7. Observe that no records are returned and the message "There are no entries yet. When there are, you'll see them here." is displayed.
8. The application log does not provide additional information explaining why the expected data was not selected.

Reclassification uses predefined data selection criteria in addition to the conditions maintained in the reclassification sequence.

SAP introduced the Remove Predefined Filters option specifically to support reclassification scenarios involving consolidation units using the Equity Method. When the option is selected, data can be selected regardless of consolidation method, including data from Equity Method consolidation units.

Accounting Technique 4 is a condition of the reclassification sequence evaluated against the accounting technique maintained in the group structure. It does not by itself remove the predefined data selection restrictions applicable to Equity Method transaction data.

Consequently, Accounting Technique 4 can be correctly maintained while the relevant Equity Method data is still not available to the reclassification sequence unless Remove predefined filters is enabled.

1. In the reclassification method, maintain Accounting Technique 4 in the relevant sequence.
2. Enable Remove predefined filters in the same sequence.

The Remove predefined filters option makes data available for selection regardless of consolidation method, including data belonging to consolidation units using the Equity Method.

Accounting Technique 4 remains an active sequence condition evaluated against the accounting technique maintained in the group structure.

Which consolidation unit's accounting technique is evaluated can also depend on other sequence settings. For example, when Activity/Cons. Accounting Part Unit is selected, the accounting technique of the accounting partner unit is evaluated. Verify these settings according to the intended business scenario.

Important: Selecting Remove predefined filters broadens the underlying data selection and is not limited to Equity Method data.

Review the trigger selection object and maintain the required posting levels and record types according to the business scenario to prevent unintended data from being selected.

Preparation for Consolidation Group Changes data can involve posting levels 02, 12, and 22 in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. These posting levels should therefore also be considered when reviewing the trigger selection.
