3797931 - After the CE2608 upgrade, Service Contracts Incorrectly Employ Full Revenue Recognition Instead of Periodic Recognition for Service Contracts with Ad hoc Billing

• After upgrading to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 2608, revenue recognition for Service Contracts with Ad hoc Billing recognizes the full remaining value instead of performing periodic (monthly) recognition under the CCS Revenue Recognition key.
• In Event-Based Revenue Recognition – Service Documents, the simulation shows TECO status as active with the following messages:
  • "Evaluate according to revenue recognition method 'Recognize revenue time-based'".
  • "Status 'technically completed' is active for <date>: deferrals and accruals will be cancelled".

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

The issue was caused as a result of the recent CE2608 upgrade.

SAP has identified the root cause of this issue and a correction has been scheduled for deployment during the following maintenance windows: Test environment: September, 11th–13th; Production environment: September, 18th–20th. The patch will restore the expected periodic (monthly) revenue recognition behaviour for Service Contracts with Ad hoc Billing under the CCS Revenue Recognition key. 

The deployment timeline stated above is indicative and subject to change. SAP reserves the right to revise the scheduled date without prior notice, including in response to operational, technical, or quality assurance requirements identified during the deployment preparation process.
