3798016 - Performance Issue: "Run Revenue Recognition - Projects" app after CE2608 upgrade

Symptom

There is a performance issue identified with jobs run with Run Revenue Recognition - Projects app after CE2608 upgrade

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

A logic change introduced in release 2608 on how plan data is read from ACDOCP.
This change appears to negatively impact execution time, primarily for EBRR closing jobs.

Resolution

The development team has identified the issue and the fix is planned to be delivered with the Hotfix Collection 4, HFC04, which should reach the systems by the weekend of 19th - 20th September.

There is a small workaround that could be used before the permanent fix is deployed with HFC04 to mitigate negative performance impact:

Follow the steps below to identify the Revenue Recognition keys:
1) Run the app Maintain Settings for Event-Based Revenue Recognition (ID 102530)
2) Navigate to Recognition Keys. The individual Recognition keys need to be evaluated one by one. Note down all the keys for which 'Source for Plan Values' is one of the following: 302, 303, 307, 308, 310, 500

The objects assigned with identified keys are affected by the performance issue, but the other objects are not. If the jobs are currently scheduled for processing the objects of all keys at once, check whether they could be split based on Revenue Recognition Key level. That way, processing objects of impacted keys would still take longer than expected but the runtime for the rest would be processed as usually.
