3798082 - configuring CNAME / Custom API Domain Prefix for a secondary (non-primary) site domain

Symptom

SAP Customer Data Cloud Web SDK / Screen-Sets are embedded on a secondary marketing domain which is different from the site's primary domain.

Example:

  • Primary domain: domain1.com
  • Secondary domain: domain2.com
  • Custom API Domain Prefix: prefix
  • Both domains are configured under the same CDC API key
  • domain2.com has been added to Trusted Site URLs

After adding the secondary domain to Trusted Site URLs, calls such as:

accounts.webSdkBootstrap

begin attempting to use:

prefix.domain2.com

The request fails because the Custom API Domain has only been provisioned for:

prefix.domain1.com

and there is no corresponding DNS/CNAME and certificate configuration for:

prefix.domain2.com
