3798259 - Workflow Approval History Missing for Declined Workflows in MDF Custom Objects When Pending Data Is Set to "No"

• Workflow approval history does not appear for declined workflows in MDF.
• The issue occurs despite having the "workflow approval history" permission enabled.

1. Create a record in a custom MDF object and raise a workflow.
2. Have the approver approve the workflow.
3. Observe that workflow approval history is attached to the approved record.
4. Create another record in the same MDF object and raise a workflow.
5. Have the approver decline the workflow.
6. Observe that workflow approval history is not shown for the declined record.

This is expected product behavior. For MDF objects configured with workflow and Pending Data set to “No” (for example, when configured in PPX), the workflow approval history behavior is not predictable and is not a supported configuration.

1. Review the MDF object configuration (Configure Object Definitions).
2. Set Pending Data to “Yes” for any MDF object that has a workflow configured. This is the required and supported configuration.
3. If you need to verify declined items, use Manage Workflow Requests where declined workflow requests remain visible.
4. After updating the configuration, test approval and decline scenarios again to confirm workflow approval history behaves as expected.
