3798330 - Unable to save data analyzer insight to My Files when Create permission for Private Insight is provided, after 2026 QRC3 update

• Unable to save Data Analyzer Insight to My Files (Private Files) even when Data Analyzer permissions (Create) and Private Insight (Create) are provided.
• Saving becomes possible only when the Story Create privilege is granted.
• Error shown: "Error saving insight: The resource does not exist, or you do not have permission to update it"
• Network trace message: "You are not authorized to Create Story ."

SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.15.6

1. Log in with a user who has Data Analyzer access and Private Insight Create permission but does not have Story Create permission.
2. In Data Analyzer, create an insight/report.
3. Attempt to save it to My Files (Private Files).
4. Observe that saving fails with an authorization error, and the network trace shows "You are not authorized to Create Story ." with 401 UNAUTHORIZED.

• After a recent quarterly update that introduced a new "Story" permission object, the authorization check for saving Private Insights incorrectly evaluates the Story Create permission. This causes saves to Private Files to fail even when Private Insight Create is granted. A fix is planned by the administration team.

1. As a temporary workaround, grant the user Story Create permission. This enables saving Data Analyzer Insights as both public and private insights.
2. If granting Story Create is not acceptable, wait for the planned fix in the upcoming release(currently it is scheduled in September, and subject to change).
