Cost Calculation tab in the Class throws below "Application Error"

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Learning administration.
  2. Search for and open an affected class.
  3. Navigate to the Cost Calculation tab.
  4. Observe that an application error is displayed.

Cause

When a new cost is added to a class using a formula with a circular dependency, the configuration becomes invalid and an exception is thrown.

Resolution

  1. A validation check has been added to prevent admins from adding costs with circular dependencies. This prevents the invalid configuration and avoids the exception from occurring in the future.
  2. The Engineering Team has completed their work on the fix for this issue, The issue has been fixed and available in the next release,
  3. As per the schedule outlined in the Product Release and Road Map Information.

     4. If an existing class is already in an invalid state due to a previously saved circular formula and the tab cannot be opened to correct it, Please Open a ticket with               Support under the Component LOD-SF-LMS to request a data correction to reset or remove the problematic cost formula.
