Symptom
Guidance is required on how to determine which users had visibility of the "Welcome a New Teammate" home page card in SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding. Information is also needed on what reporting or audit options are available for home page card visibility, including scenarios where the card has already been disabled.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Resolution
SAP SuccessFactors does not implement view tracking or impression logging for home page cards. Card rendering and interaction events are not stored in any database record or OData entity, and no report, audit log, or admin tool is available to retrieve individual card view history. This behavior cannot be changed through configuration.
While individual view data is not available, the population of users who had potential visibility of the "Welcome a New Teammate" card can be determined from the card's visibility rules. The card is displayed to the hiring manager and all employees who share the same direct manager as the new hire. This visibility is governed entirely by org structure and is not configurable at the individual user level, as documented in KBA 3757405: "Welcome a New Teammate" Home Page Card Visible to All Team Members — Onboarding.
To identify the affected user population, follow these steps:
- Identify the new hire associated with the card and their direct manager at the time the card was active.
- In Employee Central, navigate to the manager's org chart or run a People Analytics report filtered by the manager and the relevant date range.
- The resulting list of direct reports, together with the hiring manager, represents the complete set of users who had potential visibility of the card during that period.
Note: This approach identifies users who had visibility based on org structure. It does not confirm whether individual users opened or interacted with the card, as that data is not recorded by the system.
If individual view tracking for home page cards is a required capability, a product enhancement request can be submitted through the SAP Influence portal. The process is described in KBA 3521269: How to Submit a Product Enhancement Request — SAP SuccessFactors.
After completing the steps above, the full set of users with potential card visibility is established and can be used to support internal data privacy or incident response processes.
