3798647 - SDMI class CL_CO_ESH_LONGTEXT_MAPPING — performance tuning and runtime estimation

Symptom

  • The Silent Data Migration (SDMI) for class CL_CO_ESH_LONGTEXT_MAPPING takes significantly longer than expected during an S/4HANA upgrade.
  • The customer wants to estimate the runtime for the production system before executing the migration.
  • The customer asks how to configure the "Max. Parallel Processes of a migration" parameter in SDM_MON or the "Max. no. of parallel threads" parameter in report R_SDM_ONLINE_EXEC for this class.
  • Tables STXH and STXL contain a large number of records, and the customer is concerned that increasing parallel processes alone will not reduce the processing time.
  • The migration is executed via transaction SDM_MON or report R_SDM_ONLINE_EXEC.
