Symptom

Activation of an organizational unit fails with an error indicating that the /MOM/COST_CENTRE_ATTRIBUTES validity period is set to 00000000–00000000 due to a predefined time dependency.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
  2. Go to Org Structures view.
  3. Select the organizational unit that needs to be activated.
  4. Select edit button
  5. An error is displayed while performing the activation, as shown below.

"/MOM/COST_CENTRE_ATTRIBUTES validity period set to 00000000 - 00000000 due to predefined time dependency".
 

Resolution

The recommended approach is to roll back the organizational unit to resolve the inconsistency. Once the rollback is completed, the required changes can be performed on the last active version.
