3798714 - Adapt UI fails ERROR: Versions Model not initialized / parent overlay destroyed

• When attempting to enter Adapt UI (Runtime Adaptation / RTA) on any Fiori Elements application (Sample FIORI application: Approve Timesheets hcm.fio.approvetimesheets1), the framework fails with the following symptoms:
  • A notification appears: "Draft changes are available for this app. The app is reloading with these changes."
  • Attempting to click Discard Draft displays "App Requires Reload", followed by an explicit error pop-up:
    • Error: Versions Model for reference '<app_reference>' and layer 'CUSTOMER' were not initialized.
  • Browser Console logs indicate an underlying lifecycle exception:
    • An error has occurred... while creating children overlays, its parent overlay has been destroyed
• The application gets trapped in a continuous reload loop, preventing users from opening Adapt UI or discarding the draft via the interface.
