Symptom

The following error occurs while opening a query or a workbook in AO after S/4 HANA Cloud system upgrade.

Reproducing the Issue

Open AO workbook

  1. Open and refresh a local saved AO workbook from desktop directly.
  2. Error appears after access to S/4 HANA Cloud system.

Open a query

  1. Open AO and go to Analysis ->Insert Data Source.
  2. Connect to any S/4HANA Cloud system.
  3. After successful login, search for any query and click OK in Select Data Source dialogue. 
  4. Error occurs.

Cause

Program error. The issue only occurs with S/4HANA Cloud connection types.

Resolution

Workaround:
Close Excel. In Windows Explorer, navigate to folder %APPDATA%\SAP AG\SAP BusinessObjects Advanced Analysis\cache and delete the cache file of the affected system. 
E.g. for system https://my012345-adm.s4hana.cloud.sap, delete the file my012345_s4hana_cloud_sap.cache 
Permanent solution:
Since a correction of automatic metadata cache clean up mechanism is fixed in AO 2.8 SP31 for S/4HANA Cloud connections, installing the latest version of AO(2.8 SP31) will resolve the issue without manual cache file deletion.
