3798931 - group name text is truncated when adding a group in configure latest people profile; translations allow longer text

Symptom

  • When adding a group name with a long string (e.g. Enable the latest Viewing, Editing and History UI on Full Profile ‎(With Non-Configurable UI)‎) for a group in Configure Latest People Profile, the text is limited on it's character.
  • However, if you add this to the translations section, it allows you to enter a longer string. Once you save it the UI for the group name allows a longer string and it is no longer limited. 

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Configure Latest People Profile.
  2. Edit a card.
  3. Select Add group.
  4. Enter a long string in the Group Name field and observe that the text is truncated.
  5. Open the translations (globe icon).
  6. Enter the same long string in the translations field and save.
  7. Note that the translations field accepts a longer value than the main Group Name field, resulting in inconsistent behavior.

Cause

This is a Know Error.

Resolution

This fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on 2H 2026 release.
