3799098 - Error "Error in processing the action" when approving non-recurring payment workflow (advances)

• When attempting to approve a Non-Recurring Payment workflow related to Advances, the approval fails.
• Error message: "Error in processing the action."
• The issue may affect a specific approver while other users are able to approve similar workflow requests successfully.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Open a Non-Recurring Payment workflow that is awaiting approval.
2. Log in as the assigned approver.
3. Select Approve.
4. Observe that the system displays "Error in processing the action" and the workflow approval does not complete.

• The approval fails because, during the Advance approval process, the system attempts to automatically create the associated One Time Deduction User MDF record.
• If the approver does not have Object-Level Create permission for the One Time Deduction User object, the automatic creation fails with an MDF security error such as:
• MDFSecurityException: No permission to create object!
• As a result, the workflow approval cannot be completed.

1. Grant the approver a role with Object-Level Create permission for the One Time Deduction User object:

   User Permissions → Miscellaneous Permissions → One Time Deduction User → Object-Level Permissions → Edit

2. Ensure that the role assignment's target population includes the affected employees.
3. Save the permission changes.
4. If required, have the approver sign out and sign in again to ensure the updated permissions are applied.
5. Ask the approver to retry the approval of the Non-Recurring Payment workflow.
6. If the permission is already granted but the issue persists, verify:
   • The correct role is assigned to the approver.
   • The role's target population includes the affected employee(s).
   • The approver has the required permissions at the time the workflow approval is performed.
