3799198 - Umlaut/special character corruption when received from external partners in SAP PO

Symptom

  • Incoming messages to SAP Process Orchestration contain umlauts or special characters and sent to the backend with incorrect characters.
  • When the same message is sent directly from the PO system to the backend, the characters remain correct and the issue does not occur.
  • Some inbound messages are rejected by SAP PO with a negative response and replaces ß, ü, ö, ä characters with "?" or different special character.
