3799200 - Maintenance Activity Type not Defaulting from Detection Method in Maintenance Order in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

During creation of Maintenance Order, Maintenance Activity Type  is not defaulting based on Detection Method entered in Maintenance Notification.

Environment

 SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Maintenance Notification using App: Create Maintenance Request.
  2. Enter a value in the Detection Method field.
  3. Create a Maintenance Order from this notification.
  4. Observe that the Maintenance Activity Type field on the order is blank and not auto-populated based on the Detection Method.

Cause

In SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, Maintenance Activity Type is not automatically derived from Detection Method.

Resolution

Detection Method and Maintenance Activity Type are configured independently.
 
Maintenance Activity Type is defaulted by configuration activity 'Default Values for Maintenance Activity Type for Each Order Type'
