• Activating a newly copied workflow in Manage Workflow for Supplier Invoices fails.
• Error: "Notification eMail template id 'YY1_MRM_WF_DEADLINE_URL_TEST' not valid for workflow"
• Error ID/code: SWF_FLEX_DEF/225.
• Issue can happen with any document

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Manage Workflow for Supplier Invoices.
2. Copy an existing active workflow to create a new workflow for "Workflow for Parked invoice as Complete".
3. Attempt to activate the copied workflow.
4. Observe error SWF_FLEX_DEF/225: "Notification eMail template id 'YY1_MRM_WF_DEADLINE_URL_TEST' not valid for workflow".

The workflow validation failed because it referenced a notification email template ID that did not exist (deleted), which triggered SWF_FLEX_DEF/225 during activation.

1. Review deadline settings in each workflow step and identify the referenced notification email template for deadline notifications.
2. Restore or recreate the missing email template using the same ID referenced by the workflow, or update the workflow step’s deadline notification to a valid existing template ID.
3. Save the workflow definition and activate it again to confirm the error no longer occurs.
