• A DRTM Master Data Purge fails with the error: "CPM feedback object type delete operation is not allowed".
• No Continuous Performance Management (CPM) feedback appears to exist for the affected user, yet the purge still fails with the above error.
• Hiring of the user is blocked due to the purge error.

SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals

1. Ensure Continuous Performance Management (CPM) is enabled.
2. Select a target user for DRTM Master Data Purge (user is inactive).
3. Run a DRTM Master Data Purge request for the user.
4. Observe that the purge completes with error: "CPM feedback object type delete operation is not allowed".

The issue occurs when a customer has Continuous Performance Management (CPM) enabled and has also activated the "Disable Deleting Feedback" feature within the CPM configuration. When this feature is enabled, it prevents feedback from being deleted — either by users or via a purge execution. As a result, purge jobs triggered through DRTM — such as user purge or feedback purge executions — are blocked and unable to complete successfully. 

To resolve the purge blockage, navigate to the Continuous Performance Management Configuration page and disable the "Disable Deleting Feedback" option, then save the changes.

Once this option has been turned off, the purge job — whether a user purge or a feedback purge triggered via DRTM — can be re-triggered and should execute successfully.

Please note that our Engineering team is currently reviewing this use case internally to determine whether any further enhancement can be made to this resolution, so that customers are not required to disable this setting as a prerequisite for purge execution in future scenarios. The same will be updated on this KBA.
