3799519 - Duplicate background elements in job applications after data import via provisioning - SAP successFactors recruiting Management

• Observing duplicate entries in application records following a data import.
• Duplicates appear within background element sections (for example, education and employment history).
• Duplicated entries contain identical data (dates, descriptions, identifiers).
• Candidate profile shows single entries; duplicates appear only in the application view.
• Duplicates are seen across multiple applications, not limited to a single user or single import.
• No error messages are displayed.

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

1. Perform candidate profile data import through Provisioning using the Candidate import job.
2. Perform background element data import (option under Candidate Profile job) through Provisioning.
3. Verify the candidate profile shows a single entry per background element.
4. Perform application data import through Provisioning using the Application import job.
5. Open a job application in the system.
6. Navigate to the background elements section (for example, education or employment).
7. Observe duplicate entries for the same background element.

The application import CSV omitted the required applicationDate value, which caused the system to re-copy background element data when the application was first opened, resulting in duplicates in the application.

1. Open the application import CSV used for the job applications.
2. Populate the applicationDate column for all rows using the format YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss (example: 2026-06-05T00:00:01).
3. Re-run the Application import job in Provisioning with the corrected CSV.
4. Open newly imported applications and confirm that background elements are not duplicated.
5. Manually correct any previously imported applications that already contain duplicate background elements.
