• When maintaining packing instruction, after confirming the input, the system will automatically adjust the theoretical quantity of integers to decimals.
• The behavior occurs specifically when the theoretical quantity is entered in an alternative unit of measure rather than the base unit.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Fiori app Manage Packing Instructions - Master Data for managing or changing packing instructions.
2. Create or edit a packaging specification.
3. Input integer format theoretical quantity.
4. Confirm input and observe quantity changes to decimals.

• The material’s unit of measure setup uses a base unit that is not the smallest unit of measure. (Message MM129 should have been triggered during the creation of the material master record to warn about this)
• System logic converts the entered alternative unit quantity to the base unit (with rounding as customized) and then converts back to the alternative unit without rounding.

Correct the unit of measure conversion in the material so that the base unit is the smallest unit of measure.

This avoids precision loss during conversions and prevents unintended rounding changes when switching between units.
