3800010 - Internal error and Failed to fetch data occurs when story includes External Learning Request

• An internal error occurred while running or previewing the story report contains External Learning Request table. The error message included: 

Internal error occurred while processing.
For assistance, please contact your administrator or the SAP Product Support team, if needed.

• Report related charts are not loading and displayed a "failed to fetch data" message.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Sign in to SAP SuccessFactors. 
2. Go to Reporting. 
3. Open a Story report that includes External Learning Request data. 
4. Observe that charts fail to load and show "failed to fetch data."
5. Select Edit Data Source > Report Details, then choose Preview Query.
6. An internal error occurs. 

The issue occurs when a comma-separated value is saved in the "Direct Cost Total" column after an admin edits a record in Completed and Verified status, causing an SQL error during report preview.

For Immediate Fix: 

• Contact SAP Product Support to request a data correction for impacted records so the Story loads without errors.

For Workaround:

• Remove the "Direct Cost Total" column from the External Training Request Form Data and from any calculated columns in the Story until the fix is delivered. 

For Preventive Guidance:

• Until the fix is available, avoid editing External Learning Request records that are in Completed and Verified status.
