Symptom

Character limit for behavior comments is not enforced for Chinese characters, allowing input beyond the defined limit.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management

Reproducing the Issue

Replication steps:

For the behavior comment field, 

  1. Open the input field and continuously type English (single-byte) characters until the 200-character limit is reached.

    Result: Input is correctly blocked at 200 characters, no further entry is possible.

  2. Open the input field and continuously type Chinese (multi-byte) characters beyond the 200-character limit.

    Result: Input is not blocked at 200 characters, additional characters can still be entered beyond the limit.

Resolution

The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on 2H 2026 release.
