3800243 - hana cockpit 2.18.8 upgrade fails during xsa component staging with 503 and xml unmarshalling error

Symptom

  • hdblcm upgrade to 2.18.8 terminates while updating hana cockpit components.
  • Error staging application "cockpit-persistence-svc" or "cockpit-hdb-svc".
  • Controller operation failed: 503 Service Unavailable: Could not get recent logs of application (Operation is not available).
  • [Fatal Error]: The character reference must end with the ';' delimiter.
  • Exception: An unexpected error occurred while unmarshalling the XML content.
  • Upgrade appears stuck at "Stopping application ..." before failing.
