3800330 - Analysis for Office connection fails after SAP Kernel update with older AO versions (RETURN CODE: DEALLOCATED_NORMAL)

After updating the SAP Kernel to a newer patch level, SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office can no longer establish a connection to the affected SAP system when an older Analysis for Office 2.8 version is used.

Depending on the connection configuration, one or more of the following symptoms may occur:

• Analysis for Office cannot connect to the SAP system after the Kernel update.
• SNC/SSO connection fails although the same connection worked before the Kernel update.
• The issue may also occur without SNC.
• The following errors may be recorded: RETURN CODE: 18 or SI_ECONN_BROKEN or RETURN CODE: DEALLOCATED_NORMAL
• A secure connection may also fail with an error similar to: Failed to establish a secure connection
