3800374 - Confirmed quantity is zero in USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE when creating sales order via background processing

Symptom

  • When creating a sales order using BAPI or IDoc, the field XVBEP-BMENG (confirmed quantity), XVBAP-LSMENG (delivery quantity) is populated with zero value inside USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE (MV45AFZZ).
  • The same sales order created via transaction VA01 populates confirmed quantity correctly.
  • The confirmed quantity (XVBEP-BMENG) and delivery quantity (XVBAP-LSMENG) are not available in the user exit during background processing (BAPI, EDI, background job).
  • In S/4HANA, the flag DA_ATP_GRUPPENAUFRUF is populated during background execution, whereas in ECC the flag generally remains empty for the same scenario.
