3800494 - SOAP Receiver - "Couldn't parse stream" / "Invalid UTF-8 start byte 0x8b" caused by compressed HTTP response

Symptom

When an SAP Cloud Integration SOAP Receiver sends a synchronous request to an SAP backend, message processing fails with an error similar to:

Fault: java.lang.RuntimeException: Couldn't parse stream
CharConversionException: Invalid UTF-8 start byte 0x8b

The issue may occur only when the request passes through an intermediate component such as a Web Dispatcher, load balancer, reverse proxy, or other HTTP middleware.

The same SOAP request may work successfully when the backend is accessed directly.
