3800504 - SOAP Sender - "Invalid characters (CR/LF)" in HTTP header caused by exchange property

Symptom

A synchronous SOAP message in SAP Cloud Integration fails during the response processing with an error similar to:

IllegalArgumentException: Invalid characters (CR/LF) in header SAPProperty_InputPayload

The error occurs after the backend processing has completed successfully, while Cloud Integration is preparing the HTTP/SOAP response.

The stack trace may contain references to:

FirewalledResponse.validateCrlf()
Headers.copyToResponse()
AbstractHTTPDestination.flushHeaders()
