3800623 - Warning message disappears after selecting account from recent selections in opportunity quick create

Symptom

Waring message briefly appears but does not linger at the top of the screen as expected

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Sales Work center
  2. Go to Opportunity work center view and start creating a new Opportunity (Quick Create).
  3. In the Account field, use the recent selections list to pick an account that has a related contact person.
  4. Observe: the warning message appears and then disappears shortly after.
  5. Relaunch the Opportunity Quick Create.
  6. In the Account field, pick an account without a related contact person from recent selections.
  7. Observe: the warning message remains visible.
  8. Relaunch the Opportunity Quick Create.
  9. Use the value help (OVS) for the Account field to select the same account (with contact/without Account).
  10. Observe: the warning message remains visible as expected.

Cause

When an account with a contact relationship is chosen from recent selections, an additional event (contact consistency check) initiates a UI refresh/back-end roundtrip. This refresh clears the message, causing it to disappear. Selecting via OVS does not cause this immediate refresh, so the message persists by design.

Resolution

  1. Use the Account value help (OVS) to select the account instead of choosing it from recent selections.
  2. Avoid selecting accounts with contact relationships from the recent selections list if message persistence is required.
