When checking asset like by T-code AW01N or AFABN, error AA694 is met as below,

Posting rules in area XX are different from area YY

Diagnosis

The depreciation posting run cannot be carried out.  The posting rules in the derived area  are different from the rules for area . Since these two areas are mutually dependent, they cannot have different posting cycles or different distribution rules (for proportional distribution or depreciation for past periods)

Procedure

Correct your posting rules using the appropriate Customizing function. After you make this correction, you can start the depreciation posting run again.
