3801485 - OCN course import fails with 'addContentModule(vo): required data is missing' and foreign key constraint violation

Symptom

An error occurs when launching Open Content Network (OCN) course import.

  • Error: "Error processing (Batch # 1) ERROR MESSAGE:(com.plateausystems.elms.util.helper.ElmsCreateException: addContentModule(vo): required data is missing.)"

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to Learning Administration.
  2. Navigate to Content > Open Content Network.
  3. Attempt to import any OCN course and observe the error.

Cause

The default values configured in Open Content Network System Configuration (defaultValues.***[default]) do not exist in Learning Administration. This missing reference leads to a foreign key constraint violation when creating the content module.

Resolution

  1. In Learning Administration, add the missing entities to the system, or use a different default value for the domain, item type, completion status, etc.
  2. Re-run the OCN import (or the Open Content Network Content Synchronization APM, if applicable).
  3. Verify that the courses import without errors.
