Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
-
Open the Maintain Business Partner app.
-
Navigate to Identification > Organization Data.
-
Enter an International Location Number consisting only of zeros (for example,
00000). -
Save the business partner or refresh the application.
-
Confirm that the field continues to display the entered value (
00000). -
Open the Manage Business Partner app.Locate the same business partner.
-
Observe that the International Location Number is displayed as '
-'.
Cause
-
This is standard system behavior.
- International Location Number fields do not accept an all-zero value as a valid identifier.
- A value consisting only of zeros is treated as an initial value.
- As a result, no value is persisted in the database.
- When the Manage Business Partner app reads the data, the field is interpreted as empty and is therefore displayed as a hyphen (
-).
Resolution
Do not use an International Location Number consisting only of zeros.
Use a value that contains at least one non-zero digit. Examples:
000010010012345
Values containing at least one non-zero digit are treated as valid International Location Numbers and are displayed consistently across applications.
