3802086 - User is Removed from Permission Group After Username is Changed

• The username of an employee was updated in SAP SuccessFactors.
• After the username change, the affected user is no longer a member of one or more Permission Groups.
• The user had previously been a member of the affected Permission Group(s) with no other changes made to group membership.

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core

1. Log into SuccessFactors.
2. Change the username of a user.
3. Open Manage Permission Groups or Manage Permission Roles and select View Change History.
4. Notice that the user was removed from the group

The user's username was changed. The permission group was defined with a username filter; when the group was next updated, the user no longer matched the filter and was removed. This is expected behavior, and View Change History does not record direct member add/remove events.

1. Verify the user’s current username using the User Management Change Audit Report for the impacted period.
2. Review Manage Permission Groups > View Change History to identify changes to the username filter (membership changes are only indirectly observable via filter changes).
3. If access is still required, update the permission group definition to reference the user’s current username
4. Save/update the group to re-evaluate membership and restore the user’s access as needed.
5. Validate the result using RBP troubleshooting tool.
