3802407 - Variables or values lost after reopening Analysis for Office workbook when two variables are defined on the same characteristic under "Default Values" in the query

Symptom

Analysis for Office workbook sourced from a BEx query has two variables on the same characteristic under "Default Values" section:

  • Variable 1: Customer exit, not input-ready, interval, mandatory
  • Variable 2: Manual input, input-ready, single value, mandatory

After saving and reopening the workbook, the following behaviors are observed depending on the "Refresh Variables" setting for this characteristic in the query definition:

  • When "Refresh Variables" is set to "Dynamically": An error message is displayed upon reopening: "Variables for characteristic XXX cannot be processed". When clicking Prompts, the variable is lost.
  • When "Refresh Variables" is set to "As Designed": The previously saved variable value is lost upon reopening.
