Symptom
After opening an Excel workbook downloaded from SAP Analytics Cloud, the user must sign in to the tenant again in the SAP Analytics Cloud add-in to refresh data or access the model.
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office
Reproducing the Issue
- Download an Excel workbook from the SAP Analytics Cloud tenant.
- Open the workbook in Excel.
- In the SAP Analytics Cloud add-in, attempt to refresh data or access the underlying model.
- Observe that a sign-in to the associated tenant is required.
Cause
The access/session token from the original SAP Analytics Cloud browser session is not stored in the downloaded Excel file, so the add-in cannot reuse it for authentication.
Resolution
Sign in to the SAP Analytics Cloud tenant in the add-in when prompted to refresh data or access models; this is expected behavior.
