Symptom
- When a configured quote item is edited, custom calculation scripts that read AffectedItems may receive the previous (stale) attribute value instead of the newly selected value
- The behavior is observed during Add/Copy/Delete custom calculation event.
Environment
SAP CPQ
Cause
- Upon editing a configuration, CPQ performs delete-and-replace cycle: original item is deleted and new one inserted
- On runtime, both are maintained to perform appropriate calculations
- When iterating AffectedItems, deleted value/item can be retrieved
- Without filtering, deleted items cannot be distinguished of new items/values selected.
Resolution
To appropriately consume the selected value, you should use IsDeleted flag as filter
