3802839 - EmployeeTime displays an error 'Failed to load data' in mobile devices while web works - SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Off

Symptom

  • Opening the Time Off screen in the mobile app displays the error: "Failed to load data. Please try again later."
  • The same Time Off data displays correctly in the web application.
  • The issue occurs for all users.
  • In technical traces, a mobile API request may return HTTP 404 Not Found when loading Time Off balances.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the SuccessFactors mobile app.
  2. Go to Browse.
  3. Tap Time Off.
  4. Observe the error: "Failed to load data. Please try again later."

Cause

This is a Known Issue.

This behavior was identified as a known product limitation: The Mobile Time Off view calls the Employee Central balance API on screen load. For environments configured with Leave of Absence (LOA) only, that API responds with HTTP 404 by design. As the LOA-only provisioning is not supported in the mobile app, the call results in the user-facing "Failed to load data" error.

Resolution

The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on 1H 2027 release.

Workaround

  1. Use the mobile device’s web browser to access Time Off as a temporary workaround; the browser correctly handles LOA-only configuration.
  2. If feasible for your business process, avoid LOA-only provisioning for mobile Time Off until mobile support is enhanced.
  3. Monitor product updates for a future enhancement that adds mobile support for LOA-only configurations (target communicated for a future release).
