Symptom
- Importing a dictionary element where a custom attribute of type "Dictionary link (as a list)" contains multiple values fails.
- The error message shown is "FAILED_DICTIONARYLINK_LOOKUP".
- Import succeeds when only a single value is provided for the attribute.
- Using separators such as comma (,), "AND", or "/" for multiple values leads to failure.
Environment
- Product: SAP Signavio Process Manager
- Dictionary for SAP Signavio Process Manager
Reproducing the Issue
- Prepare an import file for a dictionary element that includes a custom attribute of type "Dictionary link (as a list)".
- In the cell for that attribute, input multiple values separated by comma, "AND", or "/" within the same cell.
- Run the dictionary import.
- Observe that the import fails with the error "FAILED_DICTIONARYLINK_LOOKUP".
Cause
- The import file used separators (comma, "AND", "/") for multiple values. The importer requires each value to be on a separate line within the same cell (line breaks), so the lookup fails with multiple values when incorrect delimiters are used.
Resolution
- Open the import file in your spreadsheet application.
- For each "Dictionary link (as a list)" attribute that needs multiple values, enter each value on a separate line within the same cell (use a line break as the delimiter).
- In Excel, insert a line break within a cell by pressing Alt+Enter.
- Save the file.
- Re-run the dictionary import and verify that all values are correctly imported for the attribute.
