3803148 - Employment switcher not visible for Global Assignment in Latest People Profile

Symptom

In Latest People Profile, the Employment switcher does not appear for some users viewing a person with multiple assignments (Such as "Global Assignment").

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Global Assignment
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile - Latest People Profile

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Proxy as an affected user who should be able to view multiple assignments.
  2. Open the profile of a user with multiple assignments in Latest People Profile.
  3. Observe that the Employment Switcher is not shown.
  4. Verify that the same user’s Global Assignment tag can be reached via Company Directory, and/or that an admin user can see the switch in Latest People Profile.

Cause

  • Known UI defect in Latest People Profile: The employment switch is hidden when the User Status from the workforcePersonProfiles API returns null (rather than true/false) for the viewer’s context.
  • This occurs when the Role-Based Permission “Employee Profile -> Status” is scoped to the target population “The granted users themselves”.

Resolution

Engineering Team has confirmed that the issue will be fixed with 2611 Release (b2611).

As the workaround, Apply the changes in Role-Based Permissions: Check the permission “Employee Profile -> Status” for User and in that permission role where the user status is applied in access population, change the target population from “The granted users themselves” to “Everyone”.
