3803268 - Error KI305 "Please assign account assignment object to a profit center" during Actual Costing Post Closing (CKMLCP)

• During the Post Closing step of the Actual Costing Run (transaction CKMLCP / app Edit Costing Run), the system issues error message KI 305: "Please assign account assignment object to a profit center".
• The error occurs because one or more materials in the costing run lack a Profit Center assignment in the material master data.
• As a result, the entire Actual Costing run is blocked and cannot be finalized for period-end closing.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Start an Actual Costing run for the period.
2. Execute the Post closing step.
3. If a material in scope lacks a profit center assignment in its master data, the system raises KI305: "Please assign account assignment object to a profit center".

A material included in the Post closing step lacks a profit center assignment in its master data.

1. Exclude the affected material from the Post closing step of the Actual Costing run.
2. Proceed with Post closing for the remaining materials; no accounting entries or inventory revaluation will be created for the excluded material, and its inventory valuation remains at standard price for the period.
3. In the next period, if a warning appears that the previous period was not fully processed, enable the "Ignore the status of previous period" parameter in the Actual Costing run and continue processing.
4. Include other materials (for example, finished goods) in the run unless they encounter errors during processing.
5. To correct the root cause, update the material’s profit center in master data according to governance and period control. If message control prevents updating,  then maintain the profit center.
