Symptom

When importing a request, the import ends with the following error messages and RC=16:

Unexpected record length <x> at file position 0
[...]
This file seems not to contain transport data (or it was destroyed during file transfer?).
incompatible versions of transport programs...
===> HALT: This program has version <version number>, the file is not an R3trans data file. Please contact the SAP support.
[...]
R3trans aborted.
