3803563 - Period Determination Not Possible For Period Control XX During Asset Transaction Simulation - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

An error occurs while performing an asset transaction during simulation: “Period determination is not possible on date AAA for period control BBB.” (AAA represents the date, and BBB represents the period).

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Attempt to post an asset transaction.
2. Run a simulation and observe that the system raises the error: “Period determination is not possible on date AAA for period control BBB.”

Incorrect configuration of the period control method: e.g period control 06 was not maintained with date 31/12 for a shifted fiscal year variant.

1. Identify the period control method used by the affected depreciation key for the asset in SSCUI 102712: Maintain Fiscal Year Variants.
2. In configuration, open the period control method and locate period control 06.
3. Maintain the date for period control 06 as 31/12 (this applies also to shifted fiscal year variants, for example March–February).
4. Save the configuration.
5. Re-run the simulation of the asset transaction to confirm the error no longer occurs.
