3803809 - Data Import And Export Tool - Import Update Complete Entity Or Root Entity

It is not possible to update child entities directly using the Import tool. It is only possible to update Complete Entity or the main Root Entity.

1. Open System and navigate to settings.
2. Open Data Import and Export Tool.
3. Click Import button and choose Update.
4. Pick any Entity.
5. There will only be option to choose Complete Entity or Root Entity

This is expected behaviour as per the design.

If the requirment is to update a child entity only, simply use the complete entity file. Any of the files that are not edited will be ignored during import process.

1. Open the Data Import and Export Tool.
2. Choose Export and select the desired Entity.
3. Keep Complete Entity selected and then choose Export.
4. Export becomes available in the Tasks List. Click the link to download the ZIP folder to your device.
5. Extract all files from the downloaded zip folder. A new unzipped folder should appear on your device.
6. Open the unzipped folder and open the desired child entity file. Make your desired changes and then save and close.
7. Now re-zip the updated folder and use this for the next Import Update when choosing the complete entity.
8. During the import update process, the tool will only make the changes to the child entity that you made.
