3803947 - Unable to delete Time Account Type when no Time Accounts exist - SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Off

Symptom

  • Unable to delete a specific Time Account Type in Manage Data even though no related Time Accounts are returned by export or APIs.
  • When attempting deletion, the system shows: "An application error occurred. Please try again later, or notify support (with the error information of errorId=..., timestamp=..., and the version information from the current screen) if the issue keeps occurring."
  • Time Management Configuration Search for the Time Account Type returns "No data found for selection."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Import and Export Data.
  2. Export Time Accounts and verify there are no accounts for the target Time Account Type.
  3. Go to Manage Data > Time Account Type and attempt to delete the target Time Account Type.
  4. Observe the generic application error and that deletion is blocked.

Cause

This is a Known Issue. 

The Time Account Type is a flexible date account type. In addition to Time Accounts, it has Time Account Type Date References linked to it, which block deletion. The current validation does not surface these references and results in an application error.

Resolution

    The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on 2H 2026 release.

    Workaround

    1. Confirm that the Time Account Type is a flexible date account type.
    2. Use Import and Export Data to export the Time Account Type Date References.
    3. Filter the exported file for the target Time Account Type.
    4. Delete all related Date References for the Time Account Type via the import functionality.
    5. Return to Manage Data and delete the Time Account Type.
