3804037 - Prefixes and suffixes on Analytic Model dimensions are not inherited to derived models

• Qualifications (prefix/suffix) configured for dimensions in a source Analytic Model are not inherited when creating a new Analytic Model based on it.
• In the derived model, the Qualified Business Name reverts to none (no suffix).
• In the derived model, the Qualified Technical Name receives an auto-generated default suffix (for example, “_Dim5”).
• Expected behavior from users: qualifications maintained in the source Analytic Model should be passed through to derived models.

• SAP Datasphere

1. Go to SAP Datasphere.
2. Open Data Builder.
3. Select your Space.
4. Open the relevant Analytic Model.
5. Make sure the Properties / Details side panel is visible.
   • If you do not see it, click Details in the toolbar.
6. In the Analytic Model canvas, click the dimension node whose attributes you want to qualify.
   • Do not click the fact source or just an attribute in the list.
7. In the right-hand Properties panel, look for the section related to the dimension’s attributes / technical names.
8. Choose the Edit / pencil icon for the prefix or suffix for the technical name of attributes.
9. Enter the required prefix or suffix.
   • Example: SOLD_TO_, SHIP_TO_, or _SOLD_TO.
   • Note: according to the documentation, prefixes cannot start with an underscore.
10. Save and deploy the Analytic Model.
11. Create a new Analytic Model based on the source Analytic Model.
12. Open the corresponding dimension in the new model and review the Qualified Business Name and Qualified Technical Name.
13. Observe that the qualifications revert to defaults (no business suffix; technical name uses an auto-generated default suffix)

Current product behavior: prefix/suffix qualifications are maintained per dimension instance within an Analytic Model and are not inherited to derived models.

1. Maintain required prefixes/suffixes per dimension instance in each Analytic Model where they are needed.
2. If inheritance of qualifications is required, submit an enhancement request via the influence channel (refer to: How to create an enhancement request for Datasphere).
