3804268 - “Failed to load metadata” when editing KPIs on unreleased CDS views (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition)

• When attempting to use the CDS views C_TimeVariance or C_PriceVariance as data sources in the Manage KPIs and Reports app, the system may display a "Failed to load metadata" error.
• As a result, the affected analytical content cannot be customized through key-user extensibility, including the required currency configuration.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• The CDS views C_TimeVariance and C_PriceVariance are currently not released for key-user extensibility.
• This can be verified in the View Browser, where the following status is displayed: Key User Release State: Not Released
• Since the CDS views are not released for key-user extensibility, they cannot currently be used as supported data sources for the corresponding customization activities in Manage KPIs and Reports.
• This behavior is consistent with the standard product design.

It's not possible to use Not Released CDS Views in S/4HANA Cloud system. CDS Views that are not released are also not planned to be available. Raise an Influence Request asking to release the view, but still it's not certain that the view will be released as SAP considers the most voted requests to implement in new released (see KBA 2963059 for details).
