3804397 - Error When Changing Contact Owner: "Partner Has More Than One Relationship Of Category Contact Team With REVERSE_DEFAULT_INDICATOR Set"

An error occurs when changing the contact owner.

Error message: "Partner has more than one relationship of category Contact Team with REVERSE_DEFAULT_INDICATOR set"

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Log on to the system.
2. Open a contact.
3. Change the Owner field to a different user.
4. Observe that the Error message: "Partner has more than one relationship of category Contact Team with REVERSE_DEFAULT_INDICATOR set" is displayed.

• Multiple Contact Team relationships exist for the same contact with the REVERSE_DEFAULT_INDICATOR set, causing a conflict when determining the default.
• Required configuration is missing: the Sales Data indicator is not enabled for the relevant Contact Team/owner party role, and the Sales Area Dependency is not enabled for the Contact Team relationship category, leading to duplicate relationships per sales area.

1. Enable Sales Data

Go to Business Configuration → Implementation Project → Fine-Tuning Activities → Party Role Definition.
Enable Sales Data for the relevant Contact Team/Owner party role.

2. Enable Sales Area Dependency

Go to Business Configuration → Implementation Project → Fine-Tuning Activities → General Business Partners → Maintain Relationships.
Enable Sales Area Dependency for the relevant Contact Team relationship category.

3. Restart Failed Messages

Go to Administrator → Web Service Message Monitoring.
Restart any failed messages related to the issue.

4. Test the Owner Change

Change the Owner again and save.
Confirm that the error no longer occurs.
