Symptom
When planning or executing an S/4HANA upgrade on a system with large Financial Accounting (FI) data volumes, one or more of the following situations occur:
- There is no reliable method to estimate how long CL_SDM_FOT_RECON will take in SUM post-processing before the production upgrade window is committed
- CL_SDM_FOT_RECON completes significantly later than the upgrade window allowed for SDMI post-processing
- Increasing the number of parallel processes in SDM_MON does not reduce the runtime or improve throughput
- The question arises: is table partitioning on BSEG and BSET required before running the upgrade, and how does it affect SDMI performance?
- BSET contains more than 2,100,000,000 entries and the risk of a hard migration failure needs to be assessed
